Keepsake
2025
Keepsake is a visceral exploration of memory, erosion, and the passage of time embedded in the land. The artist carves his footprint into the earth of Bridgeport Mount, a site that has shifted through many transformations: from a coral reef to a quarry, then a landfill, and finally a park. This act of marking the land is both a tribute and a confrontation with the forgotten past of the site.
The footprint, though temporary, is an imprint of presence on a landscape that has endured constant transformation. Over time, the land erases this mark, just as it has erased the history of its previous forms. The audience is invited to step onto the same soil, to walk over the remnants of forgotten industrial debris and nature. The earth beneath their feet, once a place of vibrant life, now holds only traces of its former selves—an ever-changing keepsake of a past that will never fully resurface.
